Farmers can take advantage of government grants to buy solar systems to improve energy efficiency and cuts power bills.
Agriculture Victoria is offering grants of up to $250,000 to Victorian producers with an annual combined power bill of at least $8,000.
Mallee Sun Solar Bulk Buy – an initiative of Central Victorian Greenhouse Alliance and Council – will host a free breakfast at Spoons Riverside on Wednesday 11 September for farmers to find out more.
“Government grants for large-scale solar power is one of the options for Victorian farmers who want to cut their power bills,” Mallee Sun Solar Bulk Buy’s Jo Kaptein said.
“For example, you could purchase a 100kW solar power system for $50,000, with the other $50,000 paid by the State Government grant.
“Please come along and talk details with our team, and find out if and how you can take advantage of the grant.”
Grants will be provided to eligible farmers who have completed free energy assessment through program. Recipients are required to contribute at least 50 per cent of the total cash costs of the project.
The free breakfast meeting will be held Wednesday, 11 September from 7.30am until 8.15am at Spoons Riverside in Swan Hill.
