Farmers and householders can find out about grants for ‘going solar’ at the Mallee Almond Blossom Festival on 18 August.
Drop by the stall of the Mallee Sun Solar Bulk Buy to chat about solar and battery storage for your home, farm or other type of business – and enter a prize draw for a Google Home Mini.
Partnership with Council
Mallee Sun Solar Bulk Buy is a partnership between Swan Hill Rural City Council and Central Victorian Greenhouse Alliance, and aims to make it easier and more affordable for householders, farmers and businesses to ‘go solar’ and add batteries.
Ready to Talk Rebates & Grants
“We will be ready to explain to festival goers what rebates and grants are available for solar and batteries – as well as the types of solar power and battery storage systems available through the bulk buy,” program organiser Jo Kaptein said.
“For householders, there’s a Victorian Government Solar Panels Rebate, worth up to $2225 plus an interest-free loan of the same amount,” she said.
Grants up to $50,000 for farmers
“And for farmers there’s a grant program – worth up to $50,000 – from Business Victoria that’s suitable for primary producers with power bills of $8,000 plus per year.
“It’s definitely worth taking five or 10 minutes out at the festival to find out what’s available.
“The savings from going solar, plus the rebates and grants available make now a great time to get those panels installed.”
The Mallee Almond Blossom Festival is from 10am to 4pm on 18 August and is held at Robinvale Community Centre.
